  • My location is my home address in North Dakota. All therapy sessions will happen virtually either via live video or over the phone. As long as you live in North Dakota we can meet virtually.

  • I work with women ages 18 and up, who are struggling to live with their anxiety without letting it run the show. I also work with women who are in a messy season of life and doing their best to navigate uncertainty, take care of yourself and prioritize your own needs.

    If the problem areas that you wish to work on are outside of my scope of practice, I will work with you and give my best recommendations for a therapist that can better support you.

  • If you have mental health needs that you didn’t see on this website. I would highly recommend taking full advantage of the free 15 minute consultation that I offer.

    That way you can tell me exactly what you are looking for in a therapist and therapy experience. Then we can determine if this would be the best fit for your needs.

  • For new clients: interested in learning more, you can schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. You can also contact me via phone or email. You will find that information at the bottom of the ‘Contact’ page.

    For current clients: you can schedule and make changes to your sessions by logging onto your secure client portal. Or you may call or email me.

  • Individual counseling sessions are 1 hour (but can be altered to 45 mins).

    The frequency of our sessions is something we can decide based on the time we will need to reach your goals and what’s best for your budget/schedule.

  • If you cancel your session less than 24 hours before our scheduled meeting time or do not show up for your scheduled session. There will be a $50.00 fee.

  • This private practice is cash pay only. I do not currently take insurance at this time. I recognize that insurance coverage and cost of individual therapy is a big barrier for people.

    Cash pay allows me to help make therapy more accessible. I never want the cost to be the reason someone doesn’t seek or receive the support that they need.

  • MK Counseling uses a HIPAA-secure system that is similar to FaceTime. It’s called Simple Practice (for Apple and Android users).

    To use it on a smartphone or iPad, you’ll need to download an app (just once). If using a laptop or computer, no download is needed.

    You will be sent a link via email before each session. For phone sessions, you will only need a phone with good cell service.

  • If it helps you to know, as a therapist I like to create a plan for how we will spend our time. So that you can get the most out of those 60 mins.

    I encourage you to make a list of questions, topics you want feedback on, or new reflections you’d like to cover in our sessions.

    Those 60 mins fly by, especially with a strong client/therapist connection.

  • Practicing grounding skills when I am calm so that I can perform them on autopilot during highly stressful times.

  • Alright fellow coffee fanatics….hear me out! 90% of the time I’m a hot coffee gal, but I tend to fancy an iced coffee even in the winter.

  • I am hard-pressed to find a flick with Julia Roberts that I don’t love! I tend to watch Eat, Pray, Love whenever it pops up on ‘movies I might like’…..so we can call that a fav for me!

  • Truthfully….that I am unable to just nap any time the mood strikes me!
